Ashes will continue in England squad despite Corona cases: Cricket Australia

Following the confirmation of corona virus cases in the England team, Cricket Australia chief Nick Hawley has tried to allay concerns regarding the remaining matches of the Ashes series on Monday.

Just hours before the start of the second day of the third test in Melbourne, four members of the English camp were diagnosed with the corona virus, including two support staff and two family members, according to AFP.He said that the test results of the entire group of coronavirus players were negative.

According to Cricket Australia, the England team will undergo PCR tests today and both teams will take extra precautions during the game.

The Australian Channel Seven Network also said that employees working at the Melbourne Cricket Ground had tested positive for the corona virus, which caused the commentary team to make changes shortly before the match.

Australia has seen an increase in coronavirus cases due to the Omi Cron variant, especially in Sydney, where the fourth Ashes Test match will be played in January.

Six thousand cases are being reported daily in the state of New South Wales.

However, Nick Hawley said that the Ashes is trying to continue as planned.

"We will rely on protocol," he told reporters. It's a daily basis. "

"I can't tell you how much work is being done," he added. The diligence with which our medical team and players are working with precautions is commendable.

"She is OK. She knows she has to do this."
