Holiday for health workers canceled in Qatar

 Holidays for all medical and administrative staff of the health department in Qatar have been canceled in response to the rising incidence of corona virus in the Gulf.

According to AFP News, new cases of corona virus are being recorded in the Gulf Cooperation Council states in recent months.The guidelines issued by Hamad Medical Corporation state that due to the recent increase in the number of people affected by the Corona epidemic in Qatar, all approved leave for clinical and administrative staff working to prevent the global epidemic. A difficult decision has been made to stop the applications.

The report said that the decision to cancel the leave of medical staff would be effective immediately till further notice.


It was further clarified that Qatar is preparing to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup so the staff will be compensated for working overtime.

Since the outbreak of the corona virus, there have been 248,000 positive cases in Qatar. The death toll from the corona epidemic has been recorded at 616. The number of positive cases reported on Monday was 343, the highest since May.

In addition, despite having the highest vaccination rate in the world, the UAE has recorded more than 753,000 positive cases in the Gulf countries. On Monday, 1732 cases of Corona epidemic were recorded here, which is the highest number in the last six months.

The management of Expo 2020 in Dubai has said that the spread of the virus among the staff may lead to temporary closure of some parts of the expo for complete sanitation.

At Expo 2020, efforts are being made to implement various precautionary measures against corona virus, which require wearing a face mask and having a certificate of vaccine or a negative test for corona virus to enter the expo.
