Masterpieces by Arab artists in Washington

An exhibition at the Middle East Institute in Washington features works by emerging Arab artists. These Arab artists have continued their careers in the United States.

According to Arab News, such a special kind of drawing in the United States shows the presence of Lebanese and Egyptian artists for a long time. The exhibition begins with a drawing by Khalil Gibran, a prominent figure in Arab-American art, born in Lebanon and emerging in the literary fields of Boston and New York in the early 20th century.

The exhibition consisted of three sections by ancient Arab-American artists. It featured modernist from the 1950s and 1960s and new artists from the last 15 years.

In other US cities, including New York, San Francisco and Washington, artists from Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine and Sudan are contributing to this unique American art.

There are approximately 3 million people in the United States associated with Arab heritage, but the general public is not well aware of the rich artistic potential in this community.

The artist and author of the exhibition, Maimana Farhat, says that the world of American art is dominated by white men.

Black artists, like their Arab contemporaries, have faced backwardness and neglect.

Maimana Farhat said that in the last 10 years, special artists have made significant progress in such exhibitions.

He said that such creative art really requires diligence and hard work.

"I once heard a woman here say that I did not know that Arabs create modern art," she said.

Farhat added that significant efforts have been made to improve the participation and participation of Arab artists in international art fairs.

The most common theme in this exhibition is that artists emphasize their identity and narrative.
