WASHINGTON: Leaked documents from the Pentagon have revealed that the US military has killed thousands of innocent civilians in air strikes in the Middle East since 2014 on false information and no action has been taken against those responsible.
According to the New York Times, the leaked documents from the Pentagon's secret archives of the US air war have made sensational revelations. There have been more than 1,300 innocent civilian deaths in the Middle East since 2014.
The documents state horrific facts that air strikes carried out under false intelligence have hit the wrong targets, killing thousands of innocent civilians, including women and children, instead of terrorists.
The Pentagon's leaked documents also show that the US Air Force, despite its claims of strict code of conduct, transparency and accountability, has never been prosecuted or prosecuted.
Instead of impeachment, military officers and personnel were exempted from killing innocent civilians. Only a few cases were investigated in vain and in less than a dozen cases compensation was paid. Citizens who were permanently disabled in the attacks were also not paid.
On the other hand, the spokesman of US Central Command Capt. Bill Urban while acknowledging the shortcomings in response to the leaked documents said that they are ashamed of the deaths of innocent people and are trying to learn from the mistakes.
Documents leaked from the Pentagon's air warfare archives have opened the floodgates for the US government's claims of full-fledged intelligence, arrow-targeted drones and the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the Middle East war.
