During 2020, Emirati people broke the 11-year marriage record

 The UAE's Federal Statistics Office says that in 2020, UAEers broke an 11-year marriage record. They married 17,653 during 2020. During 2019, there were 14909 marriages. Thus, in 2020, 2744 marriages increased - an increase of 18.4% was recorded.


According to Emirates Al-Youm, the Federal Center for Statistics said that during 2020, a record number of marriages were registered in the UAE.During 2020, the trend of marriage increased due to the abolition of wedding rituals and the elimination of huge costs.

According to the statistics department, 37% of the marriages were registered in Abu Dhabi, 28.7% in Dubai, 12.8% in Sharjah, 8.3% in Ras Al Khaimah, 7.1% in Ajman, 4.8% in Fujairah and 1.3% in Umm Al Quwain.

The highest number of marriages was registered during August 2020. 14.3% marriages took place in August as compared to the whole year.

It should be noted that the statistics department has released this report yesterday. It states that most marriages took place between couples between the ages of 20 and 24.
