Doha: An important meeting of the forum of 11 major gas exporting countries hosted by Qatar will start from tomorrow in which Iranian President Ibrahim Raeesi also arrived in Doha.
According to the international news agency, in case of Russia's attack on Ukraine, Europe may face a severe gas crisis, due to which the important meeting of GECF, the organization of 11 major gas exporting countries, is starting from tomorrow.
The Algerian president arrived in Qatar yesterday to attend the sixth GECF gas summit in Doha, and in a meeting with the Emir of Qatar, important agreements were reached between the two countries. The president has also arrived in Doha.
The establishment of the GECF was proposed by Iran and its first meeting was held in Iran. So far, there have been five meetings of the GECF heads of state.
The GECF Forum of Gas Exporting Countries includes Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, UAE, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago.
Of these, Russia, Qatar, Libya, Algeria and Nigeria account for 70% of the total gas exports and 51% LNG is also supplied from these countries worldwide.
