Scott Morrison has called on his country's citizens to leave Ukraine in the face of rising border tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
"We respect the decision of Australians living in Ukraine, but our advice to them is clear: this is a very dangerous situation and to protect you, you have to go to Ukraine," Scott Morrison told a foreign news agency. He described the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border as "extremely worrying".
"We want peace but in case of conflict we want to make sure that Australians have the right to move from Ukraine to a safe place," he said. ۔
It is noteworthy that in the last few months, the West and Ukraine have accused Russia of gathering troops along the Ukrainian border with the intention of attacking. Moscow has repeatedly said it is not intended to intimidate anyone and has drawn attention to NATO's military activities near the Russian border, which pose a threat to its national security.
