Blast kills 7 in France

 PARIS: At least seven people, including two children, have been killed in an explosion in the Saint Laurent de la Selinki area of ​​the Pyrenees mountain range on the French-Spanish border.


According to international media, a loud explosion was heard in a shop in Saint Laurent de la Selinki, after which a fire broke out in the building.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a grocery and sandwich shop. A man inside the crash saved his life by jumping out of a first-floor window. Rescue teams have managed to rescue 20 people from the building, but the building is still in danger of collapsing.


The blast and fire have so far killed seven people, including a baby and a newborn.


French Interior Minister Gerald Dormann expressed his condolences to the victims in a tweet. He said he was canceling his visit to the French city of Montpellier and would arrive at the scene soon.
