Campaign against ban on hijab launched in India

 Mumbai: A signature campaign has been launched against the ban on wearing hijab by Muslim students in educational institutions in India.


In the state of Karnataka, there is growing anger among the people against the ban on the wearing of hijab by Muslim girls and voices are being raised against the ban in other states as well.


Political party Samajwadi has launched a signature campaign against the ban on hijab. Thousands of Muslim students and women took part in the campaign in Mumbai today and recorded their protest.


The students and women who took part in the campaign signed against the decision of the Karnataka government and expressed their indignation over the decision.



However, the Mumbai Police intervened and stopped the signature drive. On this occasion, female students and women chanted slogans against Karnataka and Narendra Modi government.


Samajwadi Party leader Waqar Khan said that more than 4,000 signatures have been collected in Karnataka against the ban on hijab. These signatures will be forwarded to Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiari.


A Muslim student who took part in the campaign said that Modi government in Karnataka is trying to snatch the rights of Muslim girls, wearing hijab is the right of Muslim girls and they cannot be deprived of this right.
