Texas: American scientists have discovered that people who look beautiful and attractive also have a strong immune system.
The study, conducted with the help of 159 volunteer students at Texas Christian University, found that faces that the majority of people described as "beautiful" and "attractive" also had better immune systems.
The immune system of such beautiful people was found to be stronger, especially against germs (bacteria).
The study is published online in the latest issue of Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Biological Sciences.
"This research shows a clear link between beautiful faces and a strong immune system," said Summer Mengel Koch, lead author of the dissertation and a PhD scholar at Texas Christian University.
"But why does that happen?" Does the immune system give birth to beauty or does beauty make the immune system better? Isn't there something else that is enhancing the beauty as well as strengthening the immune system? We don't know anything about it at the moment, "he said.
Knowing this will not be an easy task at all as it will require new research that is more comprehensive and detailed. Any such research will take a lot of time as it will have to explore the relationship between beauty and strengthening the security system from different angles.
