Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog will visit Turkey soon

 Tel Aviv: A high-level Turkish delegation will visit Israel this week, shortly after which the Israeli president will travel to Ankara to meet with his counterpart.


According to the International News Agency, Israeli President Isaac Herzog will visit Turkey soon, which raises hopes of resuming relations between the two countries, which have been severed since 2010.



A statement from the Israeli presidency said that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's aide Ibrahim Qalan and Deputy Foreign Minister Saadat Onal would arrive in Tel Aviv this week. The purpose of the visit is to discuss preparations for the forthcoming visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Turkey.

A statement from the president's office said that Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog would travel to Ankara at the invitation of the Turkish president, but did not specify a date for the visit.
