Saudi Arabia announces further easing of Umrah sanctions

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has relaxed the age limit for pilgrims and allowed children up to the age of 7 to perform Umrah conditionally.

According to Arab media reports, after the permission of the ministry, people aged 7 and above can now perform Umrah, however, it has been stipulated that such persons must enter details about their vaccine on the Tawaklana application.

An insider at the shrine said that the age limit would be further reduced once the Corona situation improves, allowing children up to five years of age to perform Umrah. According to the report, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah further relaxed the conditions and allowed any person to perform one Umrah in ten days.

The sources further said that the campaign to vaccinate children between the ages of 5 and 11 in the country has intensified due to which the ministry has taken this important decision.
