Suicide bomber kills 13 in Somalia

Mogadishu: A suicide bomber struck a restaurant in Somalia, killing 13 people and wounding several others.

According to the International News Agency, a large number of politicians and government employees were present at a ceremony in a restaurant in Somalia. During the ceremony, a bomber blew himself up at the restaurant's entrance.

Police say 13 people were killed on the spot in the suicide attack, while more than a dozen were seriously injured and taken to hospital. The death toll is expected to rise as three of the injured are in critical condition.

The militant group al-Shabab, which claims to be a branch of ISIS, has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack. Al-Shabab has announced its intention to form a government by occupying several areas in the country.

It should be noted that elections are to be held in Somalia this month, but even before that, the law and order situation in the country has deteriorated further and suicide attacks have increased.
