Washington - US President Joe Biden has agreed to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over the Ukraine issue.
According to a statement issued by the White House, France had offered to meet with US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which he accepted in principle.
The White House added that the US president's meeting would only take place if Russia did not invade Ukraine.
France offered to meet with US President Vladimir Putin after two phone calls from Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron. The total duration of both phone calls was 3 hours.
The US and Russian presidents will discuss possible solutions to the Ukraine crisis.
The situation in Ukraine has been tense for the past several weeks and the United States has warned that Russia could attack Ukraine at any time.
