Ukraine conflict escalates, US submarine violates Russian territorial waters
According to a foreign news agency, a US submarine entered Russian waters near the Coral Islands in the Far East.
Russia has expressed outrage at US violations of Russian territorial waters and summoned a US military attach.
Russia's Interior Ministry says the US submarine ignored a request to leave Russian territory, after which the Russian military took appropriate action and the US submarine moved out of Russian territory.
A Pentagon spokesman said: "We are looking into reports of an alleged naval accident in the Pacific Islands, but we are not able to confirm that yet.
It should be noted that the Coral Islands are located in the north of Japan, which were occupied by the Soviet Union after World War II, now under the control of Moscow.
