Why are Turkish drones proving to be a "game changer" in military conflicts around the world?

The war on drones is becoming increasingly important in world conflicts, and the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine is no exception.

In such a case, a country south of the two countries across the Black Sea is currently gaining considerable attention.

Turkish-made drones could play a key role in Ukraine's forces and deploy them in the ongoing tensions against Russia. In fact, Turkish drones have been important in many other conflicts around the world.

The report refers to Turkey's growing power of drones.

How big a player is Turkey in this arena?

Turkey is the only Muslim member of the Western military alliance NATO.

Turkey is the second largest force in the NATO alliance after the United States and shares military technology with its allies.

Erda Mollodoglu, an independent defense analyst based in Turkey, says the Ankara government has developed a significant drone force over the past 20 years.

"They have been effectively using their drones in security operations inside Turkey and across the border (against Kurdish separatist militants since the mid-1990s)."

"Drone technology has been given top priority in developing the country's defense industry," he said. In terms of operational and productive capacity, Turkey is in a better position in the region than Israel.
