The Abu Dhabi Transport Center has warned that the top 10 violations in the public transport sector in Abu Dhabi are on record. They now face fines ranging from 100 dirhams to 500 dirhams.
According to Al-Emarat Al-Youm, the Transport Center has released a list of violations on its social media page as part of an awareness campaign.
The Transport Center says there are three violations that carry a fine of up to 100 dirhams. Transferring firearms from any vehicle used in transport, placing weapons in the vehicle, parking the vehicle at places reserved for the disabled or using seats reserved for them by someone else. These three violations are punishable by a fine of 100 dirhams.
The Transport Center said that there are four violations and any of them will be fined 200 dirhams. Smoking in a car, eating and chewing gum, not paying rent and inserting a motorbike into buses indefinitely is a fine of 200 dirhams for any one of these four violations.
The Transport Center said that out of ten violations, three are such that any one of them will be fined 500 dirhams.
The center said that any passenger selling or buying a bus ticket to another passenger, deliberately disturbing the passengers while riding, not remaining calm and distracting the driver from his work. These three violations are punishable by a fine of 500 dirhams.
