The United States has banned Russian oil, gas and coal imports, while Britain and other European Union countries have decided to boycott oil and gas exports from Russia.
The United Kingdom has said it will reduce its dependence on Russian oil by the end of the year and is looking for alternatives.
This raises the question of why the world is so dependent on Russian oil and gas and how many oil and gas reserves are there in which country of the world?
Russia has 107.8 million barrels of oil and 37.4 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, according to British oil giant BP.
According to BP, Venezuela has the most oil in the world. Venezuela currently has an estimated 303.8 million barrels of oil. Saudi Arabia has 297.5 million barrels of oil reserves.
Canada has 168.1 million barrels of oil reserves, Iran 157.8 million, Kuwait 101.5 million, the United Arab Emirates 97.8, the United States 68.8, Iraq 145 and Libya 48.4 million barrels.
The rest of the world has 235.7 million barrels of oil reserves.
