India Petrol and diesel prices rise for fourth time in last 5 days

 New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices are being hiked by the Modi government in India and for the first time in history, it has been increased by 80 paise a day.


According to Indian media, petrol and diesel prices in India have been increased by 80 paise. This is the fourth increase in five days.



Petrol prices vary from state to state in India. At present, the highest price is Rs 112.51 in Mumbai and the lowest is Rs 97.81 in New Delhi. India imports 80% of its petrol.

In India, the process of daily revision of petrol prices was frozen for four months which has now been revived. Thus, since the revision of rates on March 22, prices have been increased four times so far. ۔


Today's increase is 80 paise per liter, the highest increase in the price of petrol on a daily basis since the revision of daily prices began in June 2017.


Thus, after four price hikes since March 22, the price of petrol has now gone up by Rs 3.20 paise.


It is to be noted that due to elections in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, the government had frozen the process of price hike from November 4.
