North Korea tests ballistic missile

Pyongyang: North Korea tests intercontinental ballistic missile

Foreign media quoted Japanese and South Korean officials as saying that North Korea had tested an intercontinental ballistic missile.

According to Japanese officials, the North Korean missile remained in the air for about an hour and fell into the sea 1100 km south of Japan. North Korea's intercontinental ballistic missile is more powerful than the 2017 missile, which reached an altitude of more than 6,000 km.

North Korea had previously tested an intercontinental ballistic missile in 2017.

The United States has condemned North Korea's missile test. White House Press Secretary Jane Sackie condemned the experiment in a statement, saying it was a clear violation of a number of UN Security Council resolutions.
