Russia has called Biden's remarks against Putin a threat

MOSCOW: Russia's Kremlin has said President Joe Biden's statement that Putin cannot stay in government is "dangerous."

According to international media, the Kremlin said in a press conference that Biden's statement apparently suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin should be removed from power.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Biden's statement was "definitely worrying". He also said that Moscow would now closely monitor the US President's statements.

It should be noted that at the end of a speech in Poland, Joe Biden had said that for God's sake this person (Putin) could not remain in power, which was widely interpreted to mean that Putin should be removed from office.

However, the White House said in a statement that Biden did not intend to remove Putin from power, but rather to condemn the use of force abroad.
