The technology of printing the right amount of medicine in just seven seconds

London: With the help of a new 3D printing technology, the desired amount of medicine can be printed in just seven seconds.

Especially in western countries, there is a long-standing debate that the same medicine cannot be given to all patients and then different doses are required for different patients, the preparation of which is a different matter. It has been dubbed the 'Tellermade Medicine' which is needed.

University College London (UCL) has developed a technology called wet photo polymerization. It contains a solution containing a small amount of a photo-reactive chemical.

The important thing is that the medicine can be printed on a traditional printer with one layer on top of the other. Although printers have been doing this before, they have had a lot of time. Solid paracetamol tablets are now made in just 17 seconds by using light from different angles.

Another important point is that changes in the drug solution can also control the release time of the drug. According to experts, some medicines can be made very fast, even in seven seconds.

Although paracetamol has been modeled, it is only one method. This technology can be improved in many ways to make it faster and more efficient. In this way a specific effect and quantity of medicine can be made for each patient.

Pharmaceutical experts have called the technology revolutionary and the future of pharmaceuticals.
