MASSACHUSETTS: An American biotechnology company has announced that if a healthy citizen provides his personal waste daily, he will pay her 1, 1,200 (approximately Rs. 218,000) per month.
According to reports, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company Ceres Therapeutics has begun work on a new research project called "Good Nature" which will produce a bacterium called "Clostridium difficile". Research will be done to find a better treatment for cholera.
The Good Nature program will include people between the ages of 18 and 50 who have good digestion, who have a normal weight, who do not smoke, who are not addicted to drugs, who do not drink alcohol, who have a long history. Till there has been no disease of the intestines and stomach, and if she is a woman then she should not be pregnant.
The selected volunteers will have to provide their solid waste (faeces) to the company on a daily basis or for a specified period of time, in return for which they will be paid an average of ً 1,200 per month, up to a maximum of 1, 1,500 per month.
Ceres Therapeutics says that so far 150 people have submitted applications to them which are being examined from various angles to determine their suitability for the project.
However, "Good Nature" is a big project for which the organization needs a large number of volunteers. That is why registration is still going on here and will probably continue for many months to come.
The only downside is that only American citizens can apply to donate their waste to this company.
