UK announces lifting of travel bans ahead of Easter holidays

The United Kingdom has announced that all coronavirus safety measures for travelers will be lifted by Friday to ease travel during the Easter holidays.

According to the Associated Press, non-vaccinated people will not have to undergo a corona test before traveling, nor will passengers be required to submit a locator form. In the locator form, travelers had to provide travel information as well as the address of their residence in the UK.

British Minister for Transport Grants Shops says lifting travel restrictions means they will be able to travel again as in the past.

British airlines Virgin Atlantic and British Airways welcomed the government's announcement, saying they were easing the ban on wearing masks on certain routes.

The announcement by the British government comes at a time when Corona cases are on the rise for the first time since January in all four parts of the country, England, Scotland, Wales and Eastern Ireland.

According to official data released on Monday, 444,000 new cases have been recorded in the last seven days, an increase of 48% over the previous week.

Hospitals have also seen an increase in the number of Corona patients, but this figure is lower than in January.

British Health Minister Sajid Javed says the number of victims is expected to rise further after the end of all corona bans at the local level.

He said that he would continue to monitor the new varieties of Corona and would formulate measures to be implemented immediately if required.

It should be noted that the isolation ban for any affected person was lifted by the UK till February 24.
