US Secretary of State in Israel for "historic talks" with Arab countries

US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken arrived in Israel on Sunday for a "historic" meeting with Arab countries.

According to the AFP news agency, the visit is being made under the US-backed "Abraham Accords" to improve relations between the Arab countries and the Jewish state.

Anthony Blankenship arrives in Tel Aviv on Saturday, after which he will meet with the foreign ministers of Israel, Morocco, Egypt, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in the Negev desert on Sunday and Monday, to discuss the resumption of Arab-Israeli relations in 2020. Will try to move.

Israeli Foreign Minister Yasser Lipid called it a "historic occasion."

This is the first leg of Anthony Blankenship's Middle East tour, during which he will visit the West Bank, Algeria and Morocco, where he will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed of Abu Dhabi, ruler of the United Arab Emirates. The purpose of the meeting is to seek support for Ukraine in the aftermath of the Russian invasion.

US officials have stated two other purposes of the visit, one to allay Israel's concerns over the resumption of the nuclear deal with Iran and the other to address a possible global wheat crisis due to the war in Ukraine. Includes discussing methods.
