A duty discipline system is being implemented in Saudi Arabia next week to reduce human interference in employee performance and duty compliance and to obtain a record of machine-based employee compliance.
According to the Emergency website, a duty discipline system is being introduced in most of the ministries and government agencies in Saudi Arabia to ensure compliance with the duty and raise the standard of performance of the employees.
Saudi officials want to increase employee efficiency. Arrive on duty on time and leave offices on time. Spend all of your duty time in the office doing the required work.
Authorities are also trying to ensure that employees perform their duties properly under the duty discipline system.
Under the new system, employees will have multiple benefits as they will be able to present ground realities during interrogation without any pressure. Section 11 emphasizes that an employee may not be pressured, intimidated or coerced during interrogation. The scope of the inquiry will be limited to questions about the relevant violation.
Section 18 stipulates that if an employee is accused of any wrongdoing, he should be questioned on a fair basis. He cannot be punished on the basis of fabricated facts or clues without question. There will be no justification for punishment if the allegation is not proved during the question and answer session.
The duty discipline system also makes it clear that if during questioning it is proved that the employee committed the violation by order of his boss, he will not be punished.
Section 20 of the new system specifies that if an employee dies after an allegation has been made or his or her health does not allow him or her to be questioned or given a breach of record. If years have passed and no action has been taken then the charge against him will be quashed.
