NEW YORK (Reuters) - At least 13 people were injured in a shooting at a Brooklyn subway station and several explosive devices were recovered from the scene, police said.
According to the International News Agency, a gunman wearing an orange construction vest and a gas mask over his face threw a box at a train station in Brooklyn, New York, which caused smoke and a stampede.
The man then opened fire indiscriminately, injuring 13 people. New York police cordoned off the scene after receiving reports of a shooting.
Police also found explosive devices at the railway station that had not exploded. If the material had exploded, there would have been massive loss of life and property. Police have not yet arrested the accused.
It may be recalled that a day earlier, US President Joe Biden had announced new measures to curb the sale and purchase of arms. In the United States, shootings kill about 40,000 people a year, including suicides.
