The Philippines has demanded an explanation from India for the "accidental firing" of the BrahMos missile.
According to Indian website The Wire, India's Ambassador to the Philippines Shambhu S. Kumaran spoke on the occasion at the Ananta Center Virtual Seminar on Partnership between the two countries on Wednesday.
The Philippines has signed a 37 375 million deal with India to buy BrahMos missiles, while last month India's defense ministry confirmed that the missiles had accidentally gone off and landed in Pakistan.
The Indian ambassador was asked if the Philippines had expressed concern over the accidental firing of the BrahMos missile.
Shambhu S. Kumaran replied that he had discussed the matter with the Philippine Minister of Defense.
"Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either, Looks like BT aint for me either, Looks like BT aint for me either, Looks like BT aint for me either "It simply came to our notice then. And the technical inquiry is ongoing and we will clarify when the information becomes available. "
The agreement to buy missiles for the Philippine Marines from India's BrahMos Aerospace was signed by Philippine Defense Minister Lorezana.
As a result of the agreement, three BrahMos batteries have been delivered to the Philippines.
The deal, signed earlier this year, was described by India as the largest arms deal ever.
The Philippines is the first country in the world to purchase BrahMos missiles from India.
It may be recalled that on March 11 last month, the Indian Ministry of Defense had said in a statement that on March 9, a missile "accidentally" had entered Pakistan's airspace due to a "technical glitch".
India did not name the missile, but it is believed that the missile that landed in Pakistan was BrahMos.
