New Delhi / Beijing: Distances between China and India are widening due to border tensions and the two countries have immediately suspended long-term visas for each other's citizens.
According to the international news agency, India has suspended the visas of tourists coming from China. India has taken this step after China suspended the visas of Indian students.
The Indian move has also been endorsed by the International Air Transport Association. India has also suspended tourist visas for a period of ten years.
Earlier, China had suspended the visas of Indian students who had fled the country after Corona was exposed in China and were taking online classes from home.
China's position was that these students did not return even after two years, when the Corona sanctions were also relaxed. The number of such students is in the thousands.
The escalation of tensions between India and China came in August 2019 after India annexed the areas of Ladakh to which China claims ownership.
