Jakarta: An Indonesian court has commuted the death sentence of a teacher who sexually assaulted 13 underage students to death.
Harry Viramin, a 36-year-old headmaster and teacher at Indonesia's Islamic boarding school, was sentenced in February to life in prison for sexually assaulting female students, according to the International News Agency.
The Islamic boarding school teacher was accused of sexually assaulting 13 students between the ages of 11 and 16 between 2011 and 2016 through greed or intimidation.
The sexually abused students came from extremely poor families and their parents had admitted them to an Islamic boarding school due to their inability to raise them.
