Omega-3s are helpful in cancer immunotherapy

Harvard: There are numerous benefits to omega-3 fatty acids. It is now known that this magical fatty acid can also increase the effectiveness of immunotherapy and anti-inflammatory therapy used in cancer.

We know that immunotherapy is a relatively new treatment for cancer, in which the human body develops its own cells and systems to fight cancer.

Scientists at Beth Israel Deconis Medical Center under Harvard Medical School in Boston have now performed some experiments on rats. To sum up, omega-3 supplements during immunotherapy increase the importance of this process and greatly improve treatment.

Experts have previously argued that omega-3 fatty acids have many benefits, one of which is that regular use can protect against many types of cancer. Thus fatty acids can be very useful in protective medicine and diet. It is found in eggs, meat and fish. Other supplements are also available.

Experts diagnosed several mice with early-stage cancer. After that the mice continued immunotherapy and anti-inflammatory therapy but at the same time they were fed fatty acids. Thus, rats that consumed fatty acids had stronger effects than rats that did not eat fatty acids, and both types of therapies proved to be more effective.
