The severe economic crisis in Sri Lanka has led to severe shortages of medicines, fuel and food. Due to shortage of diesel in the country, power is being cut off for 10 hours daily.
Hundreds of protesters marched in front of the presidential palace in Colombo, demanding the resignation of President Raja Paxa.
