The latest "VVIP" hospital where only eagles are treated

Doha: Raising eagles is a popular and ancient hobby of the Arabs which is not only in full swing till date but is also introducing new innovations.

One such innovation is the "Eagle's VVIP Hospital" operating in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Its name is “Mustashfi Souq Waqif for Saqqur” meaning “Souq Waqif, Hospital of Eagles” where 150 sick eagles are treated daily.

Souq Waqif is a well-known bazaar in the old city of Doha, where traditional Arab-style shops, houses and hotels abound.

The Eagle Hospital was established in the same area in 2008 and soon became one of the most popular places here.

Like other Arabs, Qatari sheikhs are fond of raising eagles, which they care more about than their own children. That's why they spend money like water on their pet eagles from treatment to routine care.

The Souq Waqif Hospital performs a variety of tests, including blood tests on the eagles, endoscopy and X-rays, as well as cosmetic procedures such as beak fixing and feather trimming.

The modern operating theaters here even provide orthopedic surgery for injured eagles.

The hospital is equipped with all the facilities that an ordinary person can only think of.
