The World Health Organization (WHO) has blocked exports of Indian corona vaccine

GENEVA: The World Health Organization (WHO) has suspended shipments of the corona vaccine made by India to other countries due to defects found during the inspection.

According to the World News Agency, the World Health Organization has stopped the process of supplying corona vaccine made in India to other countries. The vaccines were to be provided free of charge to deserving countries through the United Nations.

The World Health Organization (WHO) inspected production of the corona vaccine in India from March 14 to 22 and identified defects in the vaccine.

Assuring the Indian company that the shortcomings would be rectified, a comprehensive plan for implementation of the recommendations would be submitted to the Drug Controller General of India and the WHO.

World Health Organization (WHO) officials said the Indian company, which manufactures the corona vaccine, has been given the opportunity to upgrade the manufacturer's facilities and rectify deficiencies found in the inspection.

The WHO said in a statement that countries that have received vaccines manufactured by India have been asked to take appropriate action, but did not say what appropriate measures should be taken.

The World Health Organization has also stated that the vaccine is effective and has no side effects but is not export quality. Steps need to be taken to maintain the quality required for the export of vaccines.
