Russia's attack on any NATO country would be a game changer, the Pentagon warned Putin

Washington: US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that any attempt to attack a NATO country would be a "game changer".

According to Al-Arabiya, Lloyd Austin, along with US Army General Mark Milli, told lawmakers during the hearing that this is a fight that the Russian president should not really do.

"I am convinced that Russia does not want to take such a risk. I do not think that Russia wants to compete with the NATO alliance," he said. He added that if Russia decided to attack any NATO member state, it would be a game changer.

He revealed that NATO members had already discussed what kind of response would be given in the event of a Russian attack.

In response to a question, he said that Washington was fully prepared for any such attack following the directive of the US President. He further added that the United States was taking a closer look at the current situation and was preparing things with each passing day.

It should be noted that according to Article 5 of the NATO agreement, if a country attacks a NATO member state, all the Allies will take necessary action against the attacking country.
