Sudan military leader General Abdul Fateh Al -Burhan on Sunday announced an end to the emergency in the country through a decree that he implemented after controlling power in the military coup on October 25 last year.
According to Arab News, the interim autonomous council said in a statement that "this decision was made to provide a suitable environment for fruitful and meaningful dialogue so that stability can be achieved in the interim period."
The Security and Defense Council had previously recommended the abolition of the emergency and all detained under it.
