Saudi Arabia has amended the customs duty of 99 goods to protect and encourage national products and domestic agricultural production.
According to Al -Qaeda, Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority Chairman and Finance Minister Mohammad Al -Majdan has approved amending the customs duty of 99 goods.
The WTO has amended the customs duty of 99 items in the context of the promise of Saudi Arabia regarding the extent of customs duty.
Imports on amended new customs duty have been launched on Sunday 12 June.
According to the Mall News, the 99 items that have been decided to increase the customs duty include fresh and frozen tomatoes, dried or green onions, cucumbers, carrots, eggplant, bhandi and vegetables. Fifteen percent of the customs duty has been fixed on them. There was no duty so far.
In addition, watermelon and melon will have fifteen percent duty which was not before, while the duty on lemons and grape syrup has been increased to 12 percent to 15 percent. Mango and guava syrup will have ten percent duty instead of five.
Eggs' duty duty was increased from 20 % to 25 %.
There was no duty on the sheep and the goat, now seven percent was reduced. Twelve types of fishes have been imposed on 6 to 15 percent.
