35% reduction in airport fees in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has vowed to cut airport fees by 35 percent to make the kingdom and its airports more attractive to international travelers.

According to the Subak website, the decision to reduce the airport fee will be implemented from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam airports.\

According to the report of the American news agency Bloomberg, the reduction decision will be implemented this year. The Saudi Department of Civil Aviation will authorize airports to reduce fees to a reasonable extent.

It should be remembered that the Department of Civil Aviation had announced to open the airspace of Saudi Arabia for airlines around the world from July 15, 2022. Any airline that complies with the rules and regulations of the Saudi Civil Aviation Department will be allowed to use the air borders of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Department of Civil Aviation has said in a statement on its Twitter account that Saudi Arabia wants to fulfill the restrictions imposed under the Chicago Agreement of 1944. It is in the same spirit that it has been decided that there shall be no discrimination whatsoever with regard to passenger aircraft used in international civil aviation and all shall be treated equally. Saudi Arabia wants to strengthen its position globally as a unique location connecting three continents. In this context, it has been decided to open the airspace of the kingdom for all airlines.
