A grain export agreement was reached between Russia and Ukraine

A grain export agreement was reached between Russia and Ukraine, mediated by the United Nations and Turkey, after which the shortage of grain worldwide ended and the possibility of price reduction became strong.

According to the World News Agency, due to the imposition of war by Russia, Ukraine was facing obstacles in grain exports for the last 5 months. Due to which there was a global food shortage and the prices started talking to the sky.

The United Nations and Turkey, acting as mediators in this complex situation, got Russia and Ukraine to agree to an agreement under which obstacles to the export of grain were removed.

The agreement was signed by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Further details of this agreement were not disclosed, however, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that we will soon open a new corridor from the 3 Black Sea ports of Odessa, Chernomoresk and Yuzeny for the worldwide delivery of grain.

UN officials had hoped that grain exports would return to pre-war levels of five million tonnes a month in the next few weeks.

On this occasion, the Russian Defense Minister said that we have fulfilled our promise and assured that Russia will not take any military advantage of the opening of the ports.

It should be noted that this is the first major agreement between Russia and Ukraine since the beginning of the war in February this year. Ukraine currently has about 22 million tons of grain that will be shipped to the world market.
