Capitol Hill attack 'Trump's kids keep begging for violence to stop but they ignore'

It has been revealed before the committee investigating the attack on the US Parliament that on January 6, 2021, former President Donald Trump watched violent events on TV for several hours while his children and advisers kept asking Trump to stop.

According to the British news agency Reuters, during the eighth hearing of the committee consisting of the House of Representatives, it was stated that Trump's inflammatory speeches provoked the protesters to attack the Capitol Hill, while the former president did not stop what happened during the 187 minutes. It was a failure.

"Trump was sitting at the dinner table watching the attack on TV," said Democratic committee member Elaine Laura. Meanwhile, his staff and children pleaded with him to do something as the US President, but he ignored.

During the hearing, the panel also played video of White House aides and security personnel recorded at the scene in which the staff exchanged information about the incident.

Pete Cipollone, a former White House consul, was asked if Trump had called the secretary of defense, the attorney general or the head of homeland security before doing all of this.

Cipollone answered 'no' to all these questions.

According to panel members, Trump's daughter Ivanka and son Don Jr. were among those who urged Trump to stop violence against supporters.

The hearing is ongoing and is likely to be completed by September. The investigative committee is looking into the aftermath of the US election and Trump's speech and video of the attack on Capitol Hill.
