Beijing: China opposes India's convening of G20 summit in occupied Kashmir.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement that China's position on the Kashmir issue was clear and consistent. The Kashmir issue must be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions.
The Chinese spokesman added that China would look into the issue of attending the G20 summit. For regional peace and stability, conflicts must be resolved through dialogue and consultation, and the parties concerned must refrain from taking steps to complicate matters.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the G20 is the largest forum for international economic and financial cooperation. Economic cooperation should not be politicized. All major economies should play a role in improving the global economic system. India had asked for the G20 summit to be held in occupied Kashmir next year.
