Food shortages in Lebanon, protesters storm bakeries

 Beirut: As the food crisis worsened in Lebanon, angry protesters stormed bakeries and pastry shops.According to Arab media, the economic crisis in Lebanon has become serious. Thousands of people took to the streets and protested against the government against the abnormal increase in the value of the dollar against the local currency, the increase in petrol prices and the shortage of food items including flour.


Angry protestors stormed bakeries and pastry shops and looted food items. Smuggling of flour is also being blamed for the severe shortage of flour in the country. The price of 20 liters of petrol in Lebanon has increased from 14 thousand Lebanese pounds to 617 thousand Lebanese pounds.
