"I will always miss you", Sania Mirza retired from Wimbledon

 Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has announced her retirement in an emotional post on social media after losing the semi-finals of the mixed doubles event of the biggest Grand Slam of the year, Wimbledon.

On Thursday, Sania Mirza shared the microblogging app Instagram post and wrote that 'games take a lot from you. Mentally, physically and emotionally, win and lose, hours of hard work and many nights without sleep after losing. But it all gives you a lot in return that no other job can give you for which I am grateful. '


"Tears and joys, fights, struggles, everything finally pays off," he said. This time it wasn't all Wimbledon, but Wimbledon you're great! It's been an honor to play and win here for the last 20 years. You will always be missed, we will meet again. '


In the mixed doubles semifinals on Wednesday, Sania Mirza and her Croatian teammate Matt Peuk lost 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 to Britain's Neil Skopski and his American teammate Desiree Crooks. After which they were eliminated from the tournament.

Remember that Sania Mirza has won the Grand Slam six times in which she had won the final of mixed doubles competitions three times in 2009, 2012 and 2014.

Sania Mirza has not won any mixed doubles event at Wimbledon.
