RIYADH: In Saudi Arabia, 78 senior civil servants working in 6 ministries, including defense, were detained.
According to the international news agency, Saudi Arabia's anti-corruption department has arrested senior civil servants working in defense, interior, health, justice, education and municipalities on charges of bribery, forgery and money laundering.

It should be noted that a large number of cousins, members of the royal family, security officers and civil servants were detained when Mohammed bin Salman assumed the position of crown prince in 2017.
Thus, the second major crackdown was conducted on March 2020 in which 298 people were arrested for corruption. Among those arrested were senior government officials and some members of the royal family.
