The 30-year-old Lamu died after a few weeks in the hospital after being set on fire.

Lamu was famous for her short videos on China's social media app Dwayne, and she tried to introduce the Sichuan province's exotic locations to the country.

Lamu is ethnically from Chinese-administered Tibet and usually wears traditional Tibetan clothing in her videos.

Lamo's sister told a state-run newspaper published in Shanghai that her sister had experienced domestic violence at the hands of her husband before divorcing her and separated several years later out of frustration.

The case of domestic violence received a lot of national attention in China, and citizens across the country condemned it and called for efforts to end violence against women.

A few days after the incident, Teng Luo was detained by the police and prosecuted.

Teng Lu appealed against the court decision, but his appeal was also rejected in January this year.
