Sana'a: Yemeni model Intisar al-Hammadi was sentenced to 5 years in prison by Iran-backed Houthi rebels on charges of obscenity and drugs.
According to foreign media reports, the model has been sent to solitary confinement after being tortured by the Houthi rebels, while the prison warden has also applied electric shocks to her.
Al Hammadi was arrested by the Houthi rebels in February last year and imprisoned for 5 years. The Houthis accused the model of violating Islamic values, including running a prostitution den and drug trafficking, but al-Hammadi denied all these allegations.
In May 2021, Amnesty International said in a report that al-Hammadi was forced to confess all the crimes and after some time he was sentenced.
