Who will be the new Speaker of Punjab Assembly? The political arena was again lit up

After the tumultuous election of the Chief Minister in Pakistan's Punjab province, the Speaker's seat has become vacant.

Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, who was the speaker of the assembly earlier, has now been elected as the chief minister. Friday, July 29 has been fixed for the election of the new speaker of the assembly.

On behalf of the ruling coalition, former opposition leader and Tehreek-e-Insaf Member of Provincial Assembly Sabtain Khan has submitted his nomination papers for the Speaker. While Muslim League-N and its allies have nominated Saiful Mulok Khokhar as their candidate for Speaker.

Once again the political atmosphere has heated up for the election of the Speaker.

PML-N claims that they will succeed in making their candidate the Speaker. Speaking to Urdu News, PML-N Chief Whip Tahir Khalil Sindhu told Urdu News that "We are hopeful that the speaker will now be from PML-N." All allies are trying hard for this. At that time, there was a rift within Tehreek-e-Insaf itself. And their members will tell by their vote.

It should be noted that in the Punjab Assembly at present Tehreek-e-Insaf and its ally Q-League have 186 members while Muslim League and its allies have 178 members. The speaker will be elected by secret ballot and there will be no disqualification clause on the members, so the situation will be interesting.

The election of Speaker will be held in the Punjab Assembly building at 5 pm.

Tahir Khalil Sindhu further said that 'Shah Mehmood Qureshi wanted to make his son the speaker but it is not his thing within the party. This will also have an impact on the elections. Similarly, many Tehreek-e-Insaf members were not in favor of making Chaudhry Pervez Elahi the Chief Minister. They will now also use their vote as they wish.

The session of the Punjab Assembly began on Thursday under the chairmanship of Panel of Chairman Nawabzada Sam Baduzai. In the meeting, former Law Minister Raja Basharat submitted a resolution in the House demanding that the Speaker and Deputy Speaker elections be held tomorrow by suspending the rules. The Punjab Assembly passed the resolution by majority vote.

Meanwhile, members of the government and the opposition also raised slogans against each other. While the election rules were also read out by the Panel of Chairman according to which the members will not be allowed to carry mobile phones in the election booth.

The ruling coalition says that they have a clear majority in the assembly and the Speaker will also be theirs.

Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ejaz Chaudhry told Urdu News that "We have a majority in the assembly, so there is no fear that we will not be able to win our candidate." There is no grouping of any kind within the party. Sabtain Khan has been nominated by Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan and everyone agrees on it. The people have put an end to horse-trading and lota-cracy and now Tehreek-e-Insaf is stronger than ever.

Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan came to Lahore on Thursday, but his plane could not land due to bad weather. Now he will come to Lahore again on Friday. He will not only supervise the party affairs on the Speaker election but will also meet with Chief Minister Pervez Elahi to form the cabinet in Punjab.

On the other hand, the Muslim League-Q has also called an emergency meeting of its executive committee, in which a plan of action will be drawn up regarding the party's own affairs and the election of the speaker.
