According to non-media reports, FIFA suspended the membership of the Indian Football Federation due to unnecessary and external interference, after which India missed out on hosting the Under-17 Football World Cup.

FIFA officials say that India's membership will remain suspended until the handover of the elected body of the football federation.

It should be noted that due to the ban, India will not be able to host the Under-17 World Cup in October.
