Gaza: After three days of brutal Israeli bombardment of Gaza, a ceasefire agreement was reached between the United States and Egypt under which the Islamic Jihad and the Israeli army will not attack each other.
According to the World News Agency, 44 Palestinians, including 15 children, including the commander of Islamic Jihad, were martyred in Israel's three-day bombardment of Gaza, while more than 350 civilians were injured. The Israeli army claimed that the airstrikes were targeting the senior commanders of the Islamic Jihad militant group, who fired rockets towards our land and damaged property.
Gaza's health ministry rejected the Israeli claim, saying that more than half of those killed in the attacks were civilians, including 15 children.
Due to the loss of precious lives in the barbaric bombing, a ceasefire agreement was reached between Israel and the Islamic Jihad organization in Gaza, mediated by the United Nations, Egypt and the United States. After the agreement, both sides declared an indefinite ceasefire.
The Secretary General of Islamic Jihad, Ziad al-Nakhla, told the media in Tehran that Egypt has guaranteed the release of our two leaders, Khalil Ouda and Sheikh Basim al-Saadi, from Israeli prison.
According to Ziad-ul-Nakhla, the detainee Khalil Ouda has gone on a hunger strike in prison. They will be immediately shifted to the hospital for medical treatment and arrangements for their release will be made during treatment.
There was no immediate comment from Israel on the details of the agreement and the statement by the secretary general of Islamic Jihad.
After the announcement of the ceasefire, Palestinians took to the streets of Gaza to celebrate and call it their victory. Local government offices, educational institutions and private companies also opened.
On the other hand, the municipal bodies started the work of removing the debris of the destroyed buildings.
It should be noted that in May last year, Israel bombed Gaza for 11 consecutive days, in which 250 Palestinians were martyred, while 13 Israelis were killed in Hamas' retaliation.
