Myanmar's military rulers banned from ASEAN meetings

 Cambodia has banned Myanmar's military ruler from attending meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

According to the British news agency Reuters, the Cambodian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that ASEAN has jointly decided that Myanmar's military rulers will not be able to attend the meeting until they make progress on the peace plan. 

Cambodia's special representative for Myanmar, Prak Sokhon, told a news conference that "there should be a procedure that shows that progress has been made on the peace plan, then we will be able to make any further decisions." '

It should be noted that Myanmar's army, which has been in trouble for many years, seized power by overthrowing the elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi and started a crackdown on her opponents, while Aung San Suu Kyi was accused of "corruption". I was sentenced to five years and is currently in jail.
